Terms & Conditions

Last updated: [DATE TO BE FILLED BEFORE PUBLISHING]

Welcome. By creating an account or using this Platform, you (and, if you are a minor, your parent or legal guardian on your behalf) agree to these Terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy and our Investment & Educational Content Disclaimer, which are part of these Terms.

1. What this Platform is

This Platform is a financial-literacy education tool for children and teenagers. It uses simulated money, real (but delayed/illustrative) company data, lessons, quizzes, and games to teach general concepts about saving, budgeting, credit, insurance, and how investing works. It does not involve real money, real trading, or real financial products of any kind. See our Investment & Educational Content Disclaimer for full detail.

2. Eligibility and accounts

  • Student accounts require a parent or legal guardian's awareness and consent, confirmed at sign-up (see our Privacy Policy, Section 4).
  • Teacher accounts are intended for use by educators managing a class of students.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity on your account. You will never genuinely be asked to reveal your password to anyone claiming to represent this Platform — if that happens, it isn't really us (see our Acceptable Use Policy, Section 1).
  • One person may not create multiple accounts to gain extra in-app rewards.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any purpose other than personal, educational use;
  • Attempt to disrupt, hack, reverse-engineer, or overload the Platform;
  • Impersonate another person, or enter another person's real personal information;
  • Use any part of the Platform, its content, or its simulated data for real financial decision-making (see our Investment Disclaimer);
  • Share content or messages that are inappropriate for a platform used by children.

Teachers using classroom features are responsible for the appropriate conduct of their students within any tools made available to manage a class.

4. Content ownership

Lesson content, quiz questions, illustrations, and other original material on this Platform belong to us (or our licensors) and are provided for your personal, non-commercial, educational use. Company names, tickers, and any related trademarks that appear for educational/identification purposes remain the property of their respective owners (see our Investment Disclaimer, Section 7, and our Copyright & Third-Party Content Notice).

5. No warranty

The Platform, including all lesson content, simulated data, and quiz questions, is provided "as is." We make reasonable efforts to keep it accurate and working correctly, but we do not guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly accurate at all times — including the third-party share-price data used for the simulation, which may be delayed or occasionally incorrect.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by the law that applies to you, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to any decision made based on simulated data, lesson content, or anything generated by the Platform. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited where you live (for example, liability for gross negligence, where local law does not permit excluding it).

7. Changes to the Platform or these Terms

We may update the Platform's features or these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will make reasonable efforts to let users (or, for students, the associated parent/guardian or teacher, where applicable) know.

8. Account suspension or termination

We may suspend or close an account that violates these Terms, or at the request of a parent or legal guardian (see our Privacy Policy, Section 4 and Section 10). Where practical, we'll give at least 24 hours' notice before suspending an account for a Terms violation, unless the situation genuinely requires immediate action (for example, to protect other users).

9. Governing law

[TO BE COMPLETED WITH LOCAL COUNSEL: state which jurisdiction's law governs these Terms, and how disputes are resolved — this genuinely varies based on where the Platform operator is legally established and where users are located, and should not be guessed.]

10. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found by a court to be invalid or unenforceable, that part will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or removed if it cannot be — and the rest of these Terms will remain in full effect.

11. If the Platform is transferred or acquired

If the Platform, or substantially all of its assets, is acquired by, merged into, or transferred to another company, we may transfer the data and content in our possession (including account data) to the party taking over — this Privacy Policy and these Terms will continue to apply to that data unless you're given clear notice of a change and a reasonable opportunity to respond, consistent with applicable law protecting minors' data.

12. No third-party beneficiaries

These Terms are between you (and, where applicable, your parent/guardian) and us. They do not give any rights to anyone who is not a party to them.

13. Contact

Questions about these Terms: [CONTACT EMAIL TO BE FILLED IN BEFORE PUBLISHING]. If you raise a complaint, we'll do our best to resolve it within 7 days, though some matters may genuinely take longer.
